My engagement in model railways started in mid 60s after I had received a Fleischmann start set in
scale HO from my grandfather. In mid-70ies, I started to build a layout and of course as it is mostly the
case, it is still under construction. In addition to my HO-Landscape, I have started in mid-90ies to build
a separate HOm layout, based on RhB. As a construction engineer, I have been involved in three
railway projects in recent years in different countries and this involvement has brought my attention
deeper into the subject catenary, especially the various solutions implemented in Switzerland by
different railway companies. The experience I have gathered through the realization of those projects,
had been brought into the catenary in scale 1 / 87 in order to reach the highest possible quality, which
are continuously being improved. The focus has been put on on SBB, BLS and RhB catenary
installations in connection with my own HO and HOm layouts. I have also very recently started to produce
some new articles, such as signals and railway signs. I believe in presentation of those catenary poles
in correct environment and therefore I have a couple of years ago started to build moduls for this
purpose. These moduls showed then to be the right base for a successful co-operation with ROCO in
Austria. Since 1998, a number of ROCO models have been pictured in correct environment
and published in ROCO catalogues. The newest contribution can be seen on pages 320 / 321 in the
catalogue 2002 / 2003. In this newly established web-site, I would like to share my experience in the
field of modul and catenary contruction with other model railway people. Here I would like to express
my gratitude for all support I have received from SBB, BLS and RhB.
